What is Scripts Ahoy?

I’ve tried to run a technology blog in the past (specifically about SharePoint) but I quickly found that as an admin, most of my time is spent doing the mundane, unseen stuff. If you’re a developer you get to showcase the latest sexy webpart you’ve written but who wants to read about quota templates or me telling a dev off because he loaded content via a feature which has subsequently over-written 18 months of a content editors life (actually I might write about that story one day.)

Anyway, I’ve decided that while it might not be very interesting to the majority of the community, I can probably save a few people a lot of time by saving any scripts or snippets I write on a blog rather than a private dropbox. What I place here will be a combination of knowledge and scripts that have saved me time, added functionality or saved my ass. I make no promises to their quality, performance or safety but they have all been used in real life situations and are presented here for your use or butchery.

If you find them useful, please leave a quick comment saying so. I always do……. honest 🙂

*Some of these scripts have been sat in my DropBox for years and so while they were probably inspired or even copied from other sources, I’ve long since lost track of where they came from. Going forward I’ll credit all sources but if you find anything that looks like your work and it isn’t credited, please leave a comment and I’ll be happy to make an edit to the post.
